Introduction
简介        On 27 March 2026, the School of Architecture at The Chinese University of Hong Kong will host a one-day conference on the history, practice, and future of architectural competitions in Hong Kong and Shenzhen.

The conference is in particular important for current MArch students in Hong Kong, who will soon graduate into an uncertain economy. Architectural competitions have historically operated as a pathway to professional autonomy for young architects at precisely the times that the building industry has been unreliable. We see this conference as an opportunity to describe, and advocate for, alternative forms of practice.            

The conference will be held at the Lee Shau Kee Architecture Building from 10 am until 6 pm, and will be followed by an inclusive conference Apéro.
         香港中文大学建筑学院将于2026年3月27日举办为期一天的学术会议，深入探讨香港与深圳建筑竞赛的演变历程及未来趋向。

在当前经济环境波动的背景下，建筑竞赛不仅是选拔设计的机制，更是年轻建筑师打破常规、实现职业突破的关键途径。本次会议旨在为即将步入行业的MArch毕业生提供新视角的启迪，共同探讨建筑实践的多元可能。
